After a long wait, urea and DAP fertilizer from the Agricultural Materials Company and Salt Trading Limited have started entering simultaneously. Urea, DAP and potash fertilizers from both the companies have also started entering through the Birgunj border.

Durga Prasad Pandey, head of the company's provincial office in Birgunj, said that 5,000 tons of urea fertilizer have been received in two racks in a week under a consignment supplied by India's IPL company. The second railway rack arrived at the Sirsia dry port in Birgunj on Wednesday carrying fertilizer from Kolkata. Out of the total 30,000 tons of urea fertilizer to be received from this consignment, the Birgunj provincial office will receive 11,500 tons of fertilizer.

Apart from this, DAP fertilizer from three consignments of the company is also being received gradually, Pandey said. Pandey informed that 30,000 tons of DAP fertilizer from one consignment supplied by Aditya Birla Company, 25,000 tons of DAP fertilizer from the second consignment supplied by IPL Company, and 25,000 tons of DAP fertilizer from the third consignment supplied by IPL itself are also being received.

Of these, 11,500 tons of fertilizer from the first consignment of 30,000 tons will be received by the Birgunj provincial office. Out of the second and third consignments of 25,000/25,000 tons, the Birgunj Provincial Office will receive 9,500 and 9,500 tons of DAP fertilizer from both consignments.

Although the demand for urea fertilizer is currently low, the demand for DAP fertilizer is expected to be high for the upcoming wheat crop season and crops such as corn, potato, tobacco, etc.

Meanwhile, Amoj Lamichhane, the head of the Salt Provincial Office, Birgunj, informed that 25,000 tons of DAP fertilizer from Salt Tendering Corporation Limited is currently being received. Out of the total fertilizer of this consignment, which is supplied by IPL Company, the Birgunj office will receive 6,000 tons.

In addition, Lamichhane said that 1 railway rack of potash fertilizer has recently been received. 2,500 tons of potash have been received under this consignment, which is supplied by IPL Company.

He said that 25,000 tons of urea fertilizer, which is supplied by IPL Company, will start entering Nepal from the last week of Kartik.
