Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry has requested Nepal Rastra Bank to extend the loan interest payment deadline.
The federation's team, led by acting president of the federation Anjan Shrestha, went to Rashtra Bank on Wednesday and met the acting governor of Rashtra Bank Dr. Neelam Dhungana Timsina and made the request.
As the time for the federation to pay the loan interest installments in the first quarter of the current financial year (October-Misanta) is approaching, due to the incessant rains and floods and landslides in various parts of the country, which have caused damage to the eastern and central parts of the country, due to the problems in paying the installments to the borrowers on time, the Acting Chairman of the federation Anjan Shrestha has informed that the Rashtra Bank has been asked to extend the deadline for the interest payment.
He said that apart from these events that happened at this time, there was a long public holiday due to Dasain and the borrowers had a problem in paying installments on time.
Rashtra Bank Deputy Governor Bam Bahadur Mishra and Federation Vice Presidents Surkrishna Vaidya, Hemraj Dhakal and Treasurer Bharatraj Acharya were present on the occasion.
