During the Gen-G movement, the Upper Bhotekoshi Hydropower Project in Sindhupalchowk, with a capacity of 45 MW, has suffered a loss of Rs 320 million when production was stopped due to the demand for 'free' shares. The project was closed for two days a month due to the demand for free shares, said Bikram Ratna Sthapit, CEO of Bhotekoshi Power Company Pvt. Ltd.
‘The project has been closed since Bhadra 24, incurring a loss of Rs 10 million per day,’ he said. Although the project was supposed to be put into operation with the agreement, Sthapit said that it will be put into operation from Monday after testing due to maintenance and a month-long shutdown.
An agreement was reached on Sunday to give 10 percent shares to Bhotekoshi Gen-G Public Investment Pvt. Ltd. The agreement was reached between Bhotekoshi Gen-G Public Investment Pvt. Ltd. and Bhotekoshi Power Company Pvt. Ltd.
In the presence of local political parties, Bhotekoshi Company had agreed to give 6 percent shares to those affected by the project in 2071 Paush. Now, an agreement has been made to increase the same 6 percent by 4 percent to 10 percent.
Sthapit said that the process will begin after Bhotekoshi Gen-G Public Investment Pvt. Ltd. includes those affected by the project and transmission line.
