On the first trading day after Dasain, the benchmark NEPSE index fell by 58.55 points. NEPSE decreased by 2.19 percent and closed at 264.96 points.
The stock market was scheduled to open from Sunday after the Dasain holiday. The stock market opened from Tuesday as the government declared public holidays on Sunday and Monday in view of the risk of incessant rains. Also, NEPSE was not able to increase in the business before Dasain. Most of the trading was down on the day.
Bharat Ranabhat, the former president of Stock Brokers Association, said that the market fell because the 'confidence' of investors could not increase due to unstable politics. "The politics in the country is unstable, what will happen next, the main reason is that the market has not grown because of the unstable politics," he said. He says that investors are in a wait-and-see situation as Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Bishwa Poudel has also demanded his resignation recently.
"The resignation of the governor who understands the market is being demanded. If he resigns, what kind of officials will come tomorrow," he said.

After the share price of Century Debenture 2088 increased by 10 percent, the circuit broke. Share price of NIC Asia Bond 2088 increased by 9.11%, Standard Chartered Bank Limited Debenture by 9.06%, Seacless Hydropower by 7.72% and Threestar Hydropower Limited by 6.60%.
Geo Energy Development's 9.99, Nepal Reinsurance Company's 8.57, Global IME Sammunat Yojana-2's 7.35, Upper Mailung Khola Water Power's 7.21 and Panchkanya My Hydropower's share price decreased by 6.87 percent.
Union Hydropower, Nepal Reinsurance Company, Himalayan Reinsurance, Shivam Cement and Synergy Power Development were ahead in terms of turnover. Shares worth 283.1 million of Union Hydropower, 194.45 million of Nepal Reinsurance Company, 120.61 million of Himalayan Reinsurance, 122.23 million of Shivam Cement and 119.99 million of Synergy Power Development have been traded.
