As the highway was blocked by landslides, the price of cultivated green vegetables has started to decrease. The Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee said that the price has started to decrease with the ease of supply.

According to the statistics of the committee, the wholesale prices of most of the green vegetables have decreased compared to a week ago. Tunnel mutton has decreased by 25 percent to Rs 31, while the price of Indian mutton has decreased by 28 percent to Rs 22.

It has been reported that the prices of vegetables such as local cauliflower, white radish, bodi, ghee beans, soybean pods, bitter bitter gourd, ripe parsley, rayo greens, spinach greens, and mushrooms have decreased. There was some shortage in supply due to the public holiday of Dasin and the subsequent rains that blocked the highway. Because of this, the prices of some items have increased. Even though the price did not increase in wholesale, it was seen that it increased a lot in retail," said Binay Shrestha, information officer of the committee, "With the opening of the highway, the supply has become easier. More than 600 tons of vegetables have started coming in daily, due to which the wholesale prices have decreased. According to the

committee, the price of tunnel body, which was Rs. 110 per kg, has decreased to Rs. 85 on October 16. The price of maize husks which cost 85 rupees per kg has decreased to 65 rupees, the price of ghee beans which cost 110 rupees per kg has decreased to 95 rupees.

Vegetables entering the Kalimati fruit and vegetable market meet the demand of about 70 to 75 percent of the valley. The rest of the demand is being met by the vegetable markets of Balkhu, Balaju, Tukucha, Koteshwar and Chabahil. According to the committee, the price of Soybean Cosa, which was Rs 85 per kg, has decreased to Rs 75. The price of bitter gourd, which is Rs 55 per kg, has been reduced to Rs 50.

It is mentioned in the details of the committee that the price of ripe parsley, which was Rs 75 per kg, has been reduced to Rs 65 per kg. The price of rayo greens, which is Rs 135 per kg, has been reduced to Rs 115 and the price of mushrooms, which is Rs 325 per kg, has been reduced to Rs 350.

This is the wholesale price. When it comes to the retail market, the traders sell at arbitrary prices. The price of vegetables varies from store to store, but the regulatory body has not paid attention to it. There is no market monitoring.

Vegetables are brought into the valley from Dhading, Nuwakot, Kavre, Chitwan, Makwanpur and Terai districts. Some vegetables are also imported from India.
