The sugarcane farmers have demanded that the government should get the subsidy amount before Dasain. During the farmers' movement, the farmers have become worried that the government, which promised to provide the subsidy before Dasain, has not yet distributed the subsidy.

Umeshchandra Yadav, Central Spokesperson of Sugarcane Producers' Federation and President of Pratappur Rural Municipality, has issued a statement and warned that if the subsidy amount is not received as per the agreement before Dasain, they will start street struggle after Dasain. Earlier, from August 8th to 13th, the government assured that the farmers who were involved in the protest centered on Kathmandu and then the street struggle would be given immediate subsidy.

industry five hundred and 85 rupees  Per quintal and the government subsidized 70 rupees per quintal, the price was fixed at 655 rupees. The government has cut the amount of subsidy at the time when the farmers cut sugarcane and sold it to the industry and are waiting for the subsidy.

Farmers across the country are yet to receive payment of 1.6 billion rupees for the financial year 2081/82. Farmers protested after the government did not mention the subsidy amount in the current financial year. Even though they have been warning that they will start a phased movement if the subsidy amount is not ensured immediately, the government has not listened.
