Reliable tourism insurance started in Nepal for tourists

Himalayan Guardian Nepal has announced the world's cheapest insurance plan available in Nepal for foreign tourists. It is said that this has started a new chapter in Nepal's tourism security. Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Tourism Board Dr. The Himalayan Guardian, established on the initiative of Dhananjaya Regmi, has brought such a plan.

This scheme is especially targeted at tourists who are involved in cultural tours, adventure treks and mountain climbing . Traditionally, travelers are forced to take expensive insurance in their own country, but this company has provided easy, cheap and technology-rich insurance services in Nepal.

company has introduced three levels of insurance plans according to the needs of tourists. Cultural tours and leisure trips (up to 3,500 meters) are USD 16 per person for 14 days. Trekking (up to 5,500 meters) 14-day insurance is 150 US dollars per person and mountain climbing (up to 6,000 meters) insurance valid for 60 days is 500 US dollars per person .

These insurance plans can only be purchased through Nepal's registered trekking and tourism agencies. As the government has mandated registered guides and agencies for trekking and climbing activities, arrangements have been made for travelers to easily get insurance through their agencies. It is said that 10-15 percent service charge may be added to the insurance fee as the agencies have to pay upfront .

Every insurance will be provided with a special satellite-linked device, which has an SOS button. In case of emergency, as soon as the passenger presses the button, there is direct contact with the insurance company, rescue service providers and doctors of Nepal through the platform of the insurance company. "Our goal is not only to sell insurance, but to respond immediately to protect the lives of tourists in crisis," founder Dr. Regmi said, "Through this system, arrangements have been made for helicopters, sherpas or doctors to reach the exact location of the victim immediately."

It is believed that this insurance system will end practices such as fake rescue and excessive billing in hospitals, which have become an increasing problem in the tourism sector in recent years. It is said that this will help to present Nepal as a safer and more reliable destination to the world. "Cheap insurance, transparent process and immediate rescue system will restore the confidence of international tourists," said Regmi.
