A procedure is being prepared to raise a relief fund

A separate fund will be set up for the reconstruction of structures damaged during the 23rd and 24th August demonstrations. This was the first decision made by Minister Kulman Ghisingh to establish a 'crowd fund' for the construction of damaged structures during the reinstatement of the Ministry of Urban Development.

In this context, the Ministry of Finance is making procedures. According to the ministry, a procedure is being prepared to be introduced in the next cabinet.

According to sources in the Ministry of Finance, the procedure is intended to cover the issues of reconstruction of public structures, economic revival and relief. Tank Prasad Pandey, Joint Secretary and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance, said that the finalization of the procedure is underway.

"Procedures are being prepared," Pandey said, "How to get the resources from where will also be mentioned."

Some are announcing donations through social media. So far, those who want to help are confused as there is no official fund to collect money from the government mechanism. Public buildings were heavily damaged by arson and vandalism. The biggest damage was done in Singha Durbar, Supreme Court, Parliament Building, Minister's Residence, Road Department, Police Station etc.

The new physical structures that have been built and handed over by the builders have also suffered major damage. Ravi Singh, president of the Federation of Nepal Construction Professionals, said that there was a lot of damage to the building infrastructure. "There is a lot of damage to the building structures from the local level to the union," he said.
