209 electric vehicles and 117 cargo transport vehicles have entered through this route in the 6 days since the government put the Mustang customs office into operation. During that period, about 34.5 million rupees revenue has also been collected from the customs.
Rasuwa Customs Office has been completely closed due to the flood in Lhende river in Rasuwa district on 24th June 2008. After the obstruction due to a landslide on the Kodari highway towards the Tatopani customs office, the government had brought the Mustang border into full operation.
To facilitate foreign trade between China and Nepal, Mustang Customs Office, Nechung (Korla Pass) has been fully operational since 30th of August.
'Up to 4 October 2082, 34 crore 47 lakh 45 thousand 252 rupees revenue has been collected from the Mustang Customs Office by passing the inspection of 209 electric vehicles and 107 cargo transport vehicles,' said Tank Prasad Pandey, spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance.
At present, the Ashikuda system has been operated at this checkpoint and according to the circular dated August 31, 2082 of Nepal Rastra Bank, the Mustang Customs Office has also been facilitated by including it in the Integrated Circular-2081 to import goods through the Chinese territory.
