Aviation fuel and industrial raw material import started through Krishnanagar crossing

Due to the protest on August 23 and 24, the Krishnanagar border, which was affected by import and export, is slowly becoming operational. Import and export have started from Krishnanagar border crossing which is one of the 10 biggest customs border crossings in the country.

Phanindra Khatiwada, Chief Customs Officer of Krishnanagar Customs Office, said that imports and exports have been going smoothly since Sunday.

On Sunday and Monday, the most raw materials of Samrat and Ghorahi cement industry were 15 truckloads of coal and gypsum. Likewise, 9 tankers of aviation fuel have been imported for Gautam Buddha International Airport located in Bhairahawa in two days. Khatiwada, the chief customs officer, said that since Krishnanagar is close to aviation fuel depot in India, imports are being made from here.

Similarly, beer glass bottles were also imported. Similarly, vegetables, fruits and food grains are also being imported regularly. Similarly, on Sunday and Monday, 9 trucks of Nepali cement were exported to India.

From August 24th to 27th, this border was badly affected. As the situation in the country eases, Sutholi, the other main customs point of the district, has also become fully operational. All the services stopped at both crossings have been resumed.

Krishnanagar Industry and Commerce Association President Ritesh Kumar Sharma said that since the economic activities are going on with the operation of the customs checkpoint, the businessmen have got a lot of relief.
