Cooking gas is transported in Nepal through Indian gas bullets and Indian charcoal. During the August 23 protest, the drivers refused to transport gas. Due to the customs shutdown, the shipment could not be carried out on time. Fearing that the movement would intensify, the common people tried to stockpile gas. Because of that, there was a shortage of gas in the market.

Jenji Even though there is no shortage of petrol and diesel in the market due to the movement and the subsequent situation, why is there a complaint of gas shortage? This type of shortage seen in gas is not new, it is traditional. It is found that 4/5 times more cylinders than the regular consumption are kept in the consumer's house . Consumers try to save more in extreme situations like this type of movement, floods and landslides. They want to be sure to fill up the empty cylinder they have at once . When the demand increases at once in the market, there is some shortage . The current situation is the same. Even though industrialists supply 100 percent more than the regular supply, there is a shortage. But the market has eased. No more problems . In order to solve this frequent problem, the consumer card system should be implemented and the dealer should be verified. A permanent solution can be found with positive efforts by stakeholders.

What caused the problem in gas transportation now? What will be the reason for the shortage as soon as two to four days shipping is affected . How many gas industrialists are there in Nepal? How much is the balance with the industrialist ?

A few days ago there are various reasons for the general shortage. The first reason was the closure of Indian Oil Corporation's Barauni refinery, the closest source of gas import. When it was closed for about 20 days for regular cleaning, there was not enough gas . Second movement of August 23 . Due to the agitation, Indian transporters refused to use gas bullets. They were scared and stayed in India. Although the security agency mentioned the vehicle of petroleum products, it did not write it separately as gas bullet . That's why some gas bullet transport was interrupted. Due to the movement, the customs system did not work. There were some problems due to these various reasons. Political, natural and other noises seem to increase the unnecessary demand . There is a shortage when there is an imbalance between demand and supply. Currently, there are 59 gas companies in Nepal. The average storage of those industries is only 7 to 10 days.

Is the gas industry responsible for gas shortage and timely transportation or the oil corporation ? What is the role of corporations and industry in gas transportation and supply system? First of all, Nepal does not have its own gas bullet for cooking gas transportation. Indian gas is transported by bullet . Even though the indigenous industrialists can keep stock for limited days, Nepal Oil Corporation does not have its own storage pipeline and other structures. After the corporation issues the product delivery order (PDO) of gas, all the industrialists will manage the gas bullet for transportation and find the driver. In the current emergency, drivers do not want to transport, they are afraid. All its management will be done by the industrialists themselves. Corporations and industrialists have nothing to do with the general shortage seen a few days ago. Artificial demand and speculative demand are only . It also appears in other countries of the world. There are also some problems due to the corporation not providing PID . Corporation should be more responsible for this .

How much gas is transported by bullets in Nepal? How many gas bullets have been imported from which customs point? How many gas cylinders can be filled in one gas bullet? And how much is the daily demand? About 750 gas tankers are regularly transporting gas in Nepal. All these are Indians. A different number of gas bullets have been imported from the border every day. Talking about the last two or three days, 210 bullet gas passed the customs check and entered the market on Friday. 80 bullets missed on Saturday . Last Thursday, 64 bullets of gas were loaded at IOC's Paradip Refinery. 25 bullets were loaded in Mathura, 11 bullets in Durgapur, 3 bullets in Haldia. On Friday, 38 bullets were loaded in IOC's Paradip Refinery, 27 bullets in Mathura, 16 bullets in Durgapur and 5 bullets in Haldia. 15 bullets have been loaded in Barauni Refinery on Friday. A gas bullet contains an average of about 1260 cylinders of gas . Although the daily demand varies, if we consider the day when the industry is operating across the country, there is a daily demand of one lakh cylinders.
