A group of local investors has launched a wellness club and spa in Namche Bazar with an investment of 70 million. Altitude Wellness Club & Spa has been launched from Monday as the autumn tourist season is about to begin.
Dozens of wellness-related products have been prepared for the convenience of tourists, said Chhimikalden Sherpa, the operator. Namche Bazar now offers Thai to Ayurvedic massages from experienced therapists, says Sherpa. According to him, arrangements have been made to bathe in sauna steam, salon and hot water. "We have started this spa keeping in mind the health of the tourists who come back after climbing the mountains," he said. "This is a big project in the Khumbu area."
