NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal has announced that a special general meeting will be held on the specified date. NADA issued a statement on Thursday saying that the special general meeting will be held on the appointed date as the order of postponement issued earlier by the Kathmandu District Administration Office has been lifted.
The Central Working Committee of NADA had decided to call a special general meeting to take a final decision on the proposal to convert it into a federation for long-term institutional strengthening through its meeting on 3rd and 8th August 2082 .
Mentioning that the right of the members to exercise their right to vote has been preserved, NADA has stated that it is completely untrue to call the decision to call the general assembly illegal.
Based on the complaints received earlier, the Kathmandu District Administration Office had instructed to postpone the special general meeting. However, after discussing with both parties and getting the necessary documents and explanations, the district administration released the postponement order through a letter on August 18 and confirmed the right of NADA to make annual general meeting, special general meeting or other decisions.
Along with this, NADA has informed that the way for the special general meeting to be held without interruption on the appointed date has been opened. The organization has denied the charge of changing office bearers or extending the tenure. 'The organization is adamant that the selection of leadership and the transfer of positions should be done through the direct participation and election of the members,' the statement said.
NADA President Karan Kumar Chaudhary has also made it clear that he has no personal interest in staying in office. "If there is a unanimous vote, I am ready to call the annual general meeting and hand over the position immediately," he said. The
organization reiterated that NADA is a common organization of all automobile businessmen, and promised not to use it for personal interests. NADA said that
reforms and future plans will be carried out in a transparent and fair manner, based on the collective decision of the members. In recent days, it has objected to the news reported in various media as misleading. The organization clarified that its activities are always carried out in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations, and urged the members and stakeholders not to be misled by misleading news or misinterpretation.
