While the market fell for two days, it rose for 3 days, after falling by 38.10 points on the last day, the overall NEPSE fell to 2781 points.

37 percent share of top 10 companies in share trading

What you should know

10 companies account for 37.16 percent of the total weekly share trading. According to NEPSE data, out of total 251 companies' shares were traded during that period, the mentioned 10 companies held about 38 percent share.

During the week, 31 billion 76 crores of shares were traded, only 10 companies had a turnover of 11.80 billion 35 lakhs of rupees. During that period, shares of Himalayan Distillery worth 2.91 billion 67 million, Nepal Reinsurance 2.66 billion 19 million, and Himalayan Reinsurance 1 billion 94 million 40 million rupees have been bought and sold. 

Last week, shares of Butwal Power 688.9 million, Shivam Cement 653.8 million, Green Ventures 607.9 million, Lumbini Bikas Bank 602.6 million, NRN Infrastructure and Development 598.2 million, Radhi Vidyut Company 565.9 million and Nepal Republic Media 563.6 million were bought and sold.

The NEPSE index dropped by 23.03 points last week and closed at 2781 points. Last week, while NEPSE decreased on two trading days, NEPSE increased on 3 trading days. But Nepse growth did not continue on the last trading day. 

NEPSE decreased by 18.02 points on Sunday and increased by 21.30 points on Monday and 4.83 points on Tuesday. On Wednesday, NEPSE rose by 53.01 points to 2819.10 points. But on Thursday, as the NEPSE growth did not continue, it fell by 38.10 points to 2781 points.

The highest share trading since July 27 was last Thursday. On July 26, there was a turnover of 10 billion 21 crore rupees. Since then, last Thursday, 8 billion 956 million rupees have been traded. 6.54 billion on Sunday, 5.75 billion on Monday, 4.18 billion on Tuesday and 7.68 billion on Wednesday.

The size of the stock market (total market capitalization) has increased by 38 billion 745 million rupees. The total market capitalization of Rs 46.8 billion last Thursday has remained at Rs 46.47 billion. 

The total market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the total listed shares by the same day's share price. Increase in capitalization means increase in market value of listed shares. On this basis, when the capitalization increases, it is analyzed as the value of the investor's property increases.
