In terms of price increase, cities are cheaper, villages are more expensive

According to the report of Rashtra Bank, the price increase that consumers have to pay when purchasing goods and services in the market is less in cities and more in rural areas (villages).

In the financial year 2081/82, the annual average consumer price increase (inflation) of Kathmandu Valley is 3.77 percent. While during the same period, the rate of price increase in Terai is 4.14 percent, in the mountains 3.86 percent and in the mountains 4.89 percent.

In the financial year 2081/82, the annual average consumer price index in rural areas increased by 4.40 percent and in urban areas by 3.94 percent . "In the month of June 2082, the annual point consumer price index in the rural area has increased by 2.40 percent and in the urban area by 2.14 percent," the report states.

Similarly, in the month of June 2082, the annual point consumer price growth rate of Kathmandu Valley is 2.32 percent. While during the same period, the rate of price increase in the Terai is 1.85, the mountain is 2.19  And the report pointed out that 3.75 percent of Himal.

Looking regionally, the annual average consumer price growth rate of Koshi Province in the financial year 2081/82 is 5.46 percent. In the same period, the price growth rate of Madhesh  4.14, Bagmati 3.57, Gandaki 3.32, Lumbini 3.70, Karnali 3.31  And Sudurpaschim Province has 5.02 percent .

 According to the report, in the month of June 2082, the annual point consumer price growth rate of Koshi province is 3.67 percent. In the same period, the price growth rate of Madhesh province is 1.99, Bagmati is 1.81, Gandaki is 1.71, Lumbini is 1.78, Karnali is 1.86 and Sudurpaschim is 2.74 percent.
