Nepal has started the homework of this year's 'sovereign credit rating'. In order to prepare for the credit rating, in the meeting held today at the Ministry of Finance, it has been decided to prepare well and systematically present the achievements of Nepal.
In the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel instructed to prepare in such a way that the message of Nepal's remarkable progress in one year is conveyed. In the meeting, there was a discussion about the reforms in the economy, policy and legal sector and good governance, as well as prioritizing the achievements in political stability, roads, tourism, hydropower etc. In the
meeting, National Planning Commission Vice President Shivraj Adhikari, member Prakash Kumar Shrestha, Nepal Rashtra Bank Governor Vishwanath Paudel, Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay, Revenue Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire and others were present. In the
meeting, Mahesh Bhattarai, Head of Economic Policy Analysis Division, Ministry of Finance, presented the preparations made so far regarding credit rating. International agency Fitch does the rating of Nepal. Fitch's team is scheduled to come to Nepal to understand the situation for sovereign credit rating. Last year, Nepal got 'BB minus' in sovereign credit rating by Fitch.
