Imports of raw materials for making soft alcoholic beverages beer and its glass bottles are increasing every year. Nepal's three biggest beer industries are importing through the Krishnanagar border crossing. Imports of both raw materials and bottles have been increasing every year for the past four years through Krishnanagar, which is one of the 10 largest customs points in the country.

According to customs officer Lekhnath Bhattarai, the information officer of Krishnanagar Customs Office, which is number four in terms of revenue collection, the import of barley for beer is increasing every year. He said that bottles are the fifth most imported item through this channel.
In 2081/82, 14 thousand 123 tons of malt worth 1 billion 95 lakh 23 thousand were imported. For that, 318.3 million revenue has been collected. In 2080/81, 13,227 metric tons of malt worth 96,679,990 were imported. For that, 295 million 47 thousand customs revenue was collected.
In the last financial year, 334 thousand 463 bottles worth 9725 million 75 thousand were imported. One grouse contains 144 bottles. For that, 21 crore 41 lakh 81 thousand customs revenue has been received. In the previous financial year, 3 lakh 12 thousand 225 bottles worth 897.9 million 13 thousand were imported. For that, 19 crore 7 lakh 23 thousand revenue has been received.

Khatiwada said that Gorkha Brewery in Nawalpur, which produces various brands of Tuborg, Carlsberg and San Miguel Beer, Yeti Brewery in Chitwan, which produces Arna Beer brand, and CG Brewery in Kathmandu, which produces Nepal Ice, Real Gold and Mustang brands, are importing raw materials and glass bottles from there.
Firozabad is close to Firozabad through Krishnanagar and the road conditions are good, so the import from here has increased. Rajat Pratap Shah, head of Krishnanagar Municipality, says that the customs office is not crowded like other places and there is no need to wait for a long time and there is an easy road to reach industries. Bananas and grapes are among the top 10 goods imported through this channel.
In the last fiscal year, 12,932 tons of bananas worth 546.1 million have been imported. 13.35 million revenue has been collected for that. Last year alone, 7,331 metric tons of grapes worth 623.1 million were imported. Krishnanagar is connected to India's national rail network.
