According to him, the goal is to issue shares until the construction work of Upper Arun reaches 50 percent. 'This project is not only limited to electricity generation,' he said, 'it will advance the people of Sankhuwasabha towards economic prosperity.' He said that 12 to 15 percent of citizens will be provided with free loans through banks, while mentioning that the poor will also have the opportunity to participate in the shares.
'Everyone has the right to Sraet, the hope of Arun III is very old, now the day has come to fulfill the dream,' he said. Giving preference to local manpower, he promised to mobilize skilled manpower produced here for necessary maintenance and technical work in the project.
The Upper Arun Hydropower Project in Sankhuwasabha is one of the most ambitious hydropower projects in Nepal.
