Nepal Airlines Corporation has implemented the Magnetic Particle Inspection Non-Destructive Test (NDT) technology to detect cracks or any weakness in metallic parts in the maintenance program of its aircrafts.
NDT technology is applied to ensure safety and quality in the aircraft, rail, heavy machinery and construction industries. Regular inspections protect equipment from major accidents and expensive repair costs.
With this technology, the safety level can be kept high while repairing the ship and quality service is ensured according to the standards adopted in the international civil aviation sector . The corporation issued a statement on Thursday and said that now the scope of the corporation's repair work has been widened.
Corporation has stated that this technology has been implemented according to the rules of the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority. "The engineering and maintenance department of the corporation is committed to providing high safety and quality maintenance services," said Manoj Kumar Sah, deputy director of the engineering department of the corporation. "The use of this technology will establish a new standard in the aircraft maintenance services of the Nepal Airlines Corporation and will ensure safe aviation."
According to Saha, earlier the corporation was taking NDT services through other airlines.
