Although the NEPSE index tried to increase in the last trading day, the trading volume could not support it. The analysis has been done because the transaction amount is not enough for the improvement of the overall market as the transaction amount has continuously decreased even though NEPSE has increased with positive numbers.
NEPSE, which decreased by 27 points last Sunday, increased by 9.16 points on Monday and 6.51 points on Tuesday. On Sunday, when NEPSE fell by 27 points, shares worth 7 billion 73 crore rupees were bought and sold. On Monday, the NEPSE increased by almost double digits to 6.17 billion and on Tuesday by 6 and a half points, the turnover was 5.63 billion.
Experts say that despite the increase in NEPSE, the continuous decrease in turnover is not good for the stock market. "Although the growth rate of NEPSE is low, it would have been good for the market if the trading volume had helped," said a stock broker. After the NEPSE index increased by 0.23 percent compared to the previous day, the overall NEPSE closed at 2,776.90 points. Out of the 142 companies that traded on that day, their share prices increased, while 107 companies decreased. In this way, the overall NEPSE has increased by 6.51 points as there are more companies that increase than decrease in share price.
On Tuesday, 1 crore 31 lakh 24 thousand 310 shares were bought and sold in 61 thousand 784 transactions. Shares worth 5 billion 63 crore 65 lakh rupees have been traded in this purchase. The turnover has decreased compared to the previous day. On Monday, 1 crore 15 lakh 29 thousand 821 shares were bought and sold in 67 thousand 959 transactions.
In that purchase, shares worth 6 billion 179 million rupees were traded. The increase in the indices of 13 sub-groups that were traded on that day helped the growth of the overall NEPSE. However, the growth rate of all indices is less than 1 percent. Therefore, even though the indices of all subgroups are rising, there is a slight increase of 6 and a half points in the overall NEPSE.
