Industrial loans provided by banks and financial institutions increased by 9.4 percent in the last financial year. Along with this, the total loan disbursed by banks and financial institutions to the industrial sector has reached 15 trillion 18 billion 10 million by the end of June. In the same period of the previous year, such loans increased by 10.8 percent.
Among the industrial loans, Bagmati province has the highest loan investment of 10 trillion 63 billion 94 million, while Karnali province has the lowest loan investment of 4 billion 11 million, according to the report.
In industrial credit, the share of credit in Koshi province is 9.2 percent, Madhesh province 8 percent, Bagmati province 70.1 percent, Gandaki province 2 percent, Lumbini province 8.7 percent, Karnali province 0.3 percent and Sudurpaschim province 1.7 percent.
According to the economic activity study of Rashtra Bank, the share of loans in the industrial sector is 29.4 percent of the total loans. Among the industrial loans, 0.80 per cent was given to the mining industry, 20.53 per cent to the agriculture, forestry and beverage industry, 38.03 per cent to the non-food product manufacturing industry, 11.81 per cent to the construction industry, 24.25 per cent to the electricity, gas and water related industries and 4.59 per cent to the metal products, machinery and electronic industries.
