The government has appointed Mahesh Khanal as a chartered accountant member of the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority. Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari has appointed Khanal as a member of the Authority.
Only last week, the government appointed Ramesh Chaulagai as an expert member of the authority. Today (Monday), expert member Chaulagai and chartered accountant Khanal will take the oath of office and secrecy at the same time.
Chaulagai is the Deputy Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, while Khanal has previously held the leadership of Nepal Chartered Accountants Institute, Auditing Board etc.
The government has already appointed Khagraj Sharma as the chairman of the authority. The members are Executive Director Guru Prasad Paudel from Nepal Rastra Bank and Joint Secretary Madan Koirala from the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation. They are ex-officio members.
