The profit of Nepal Electricity Authority has decreased in the financial year 2081/82. On the occasion of the authority's 40th anniversary, Executive Director Hitendradev Shakya informed that the profit before tax has dropped to 9.67 billion rupees.

According to him, the total assets of the authority increased by 6.2 percent to 6 trillion 84 billion 91 million rupees. To meet the country's energy demand, the authority has been entering into power purchase agreements with the private sector.
