The size of the stock market (total market capitalization) has shrunk by about 46 billion on Thursday alone.

The total market capitalization remained at 47 trillion 57 billion rupees last Thursday and remained at 47 trillion 11 billion rupees on Monday. The total market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the number of shares of listed companies by the share price of the same day.

A decrease in the size of the stock market is also analyzed as a decrease in the value of the investor's assets. As the share price of most of those who entered the business that day decreased, the overall total market capitalization also decreased. NEPSE reported that while the share price of 30 companies increased on Monday, 220 decreased.

The NEPSE index, which measures stock trading, fell by 27.90 points on Monday. After decreasing by 0.97 percent compared to the previous trading day, the overall NEPSE closed at 2,822.46 points. Since Sunday is a public holiday, the market is open only from Monday. Out of the 30 companies traded on this day, 220 of them fell as their share prices increased.

On Monday, 25 million 92 thousand 490 shares were bought and sold in a transaction of 98 thousand 525 times. Shares worth 10.21 billion rupees were traded in those purchases. The trading amount has increased compared to the previous trading day. Shares worth 8.53 billion rupees were traded last Thursday.

Among the 13 sub-groups that came into trading on Monday, the overall NEPSE decreased by about 28 points after the index of all but collective investment funds and others fell. On that day, the index of collective investment fund and other sub-groups became positive by normal points. Among them, the index of development bank sub-group decreased by 2.31, microfinance by 2.35, finance company by 1.27, hydropower by 1.41, investment by 1.17, non-life insurance by 1.24 and trade by 1.44 percent. The index of banking, hotel and tourism, life insurance and manufacturing and processing sub-groups decreased by less than one percent, according to NEPSE data.
