Rice is planted in 13 lakh 78 thousand 966 hectares across the country. Out of which 12 lakh 54 thousand 886 hectares have been planted till July 25, according to Crop Development and Agricultural Biodiversity Conservation Center. Last year till July 27, 98.19 percent planting was done.
It has been reported that the drought in Madhesh this year has resulted in a decrease in planting. In terms of percentage, 99.72 percent planting has been done in Far West.

Similarly, 94.42 percent in Koshi, Bagmati 93.56 percent, 92.77 percent planting has been done in Gandaki.
