After the flood of Bhotekoshi last June 24, Rasuwagadhi was closed, the last option for import trade with China is the Tatopani channel. But due to the landslide that occurred in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2 Kodari, about 2 km from the Miteri bridge of Tatopani crossing, traffic has been disrupted for a week and business transactions have been disrupted and it has become difficult for people to move around.

Hundreds of containers carrying commercial goods are now stuck in the border area of Nepal and China after traffic was disrupted. Pilgrims visiting Mansarobar are forced to cross on foot. Businessmen have complained that fruits and spices such as apples, garlic, grapes, mangoes have started rotting inside the container.

After the closure of the Rasuwa crossing, the crossing became chaotic due to the concentration of business and pilgrims in Tatopani.

The problem of the road being cut by bhotekoshi from the lower part and mud flowing from the upper part has been bulging from time to time for three months. Until the rains stop, the problem is not going to be resolved immediately.

Since last May, the container was being temporarily opened after the landslide was removed and closed again after the landslide. With the help of local businessmen, commercial containers were brought into the customs hands once a day by using the road department's dozer. The road has been blocked about 6 and a half km from the dry port at Larcha.

The road connecting the Bahrbise-Tatopani section of Arani Highway is at risk of landslides everywhere, and the Kodari landslide has caused more problems. The possibility of rotting of food items such as apples and garlic has increased, while containers carrying commercial goods worth crores have been stranded on the road.

Traders have started to complain that their property is unsafe . Sharda Parajuli, a local businessman involved in the apple trade, said that 65 large containers carrying apples, grapes, garlic, and mangoes are lying in the auction area of Tibet. Chinese 60 container goods, Nepalese goods will be more than 150 containers.

17 Nepali containers carrying apples at the Tatopani crossing towards Nepal have not been able to enter customs due to landslides. After it rained, the road was washed away and when the sun shone, they used to play with dozers.  On Wednesday, a large stone fell from the upper part and got stuck in the middle of the flowing road. The locals have protested saying that the settlement will be in danger if the dozer removes the soil during the removal of the stone.

They have said that their settlement has started to flow while cutting the part towards the corner by running dozers daily . Kumar Shrestha, chairman of Bhotekoshi Gapa-2, which is located in the landslide area, complained that the federal government has neglected to regularly operate the channel, which generates billions of revenue annually.

He said that since the landslide is about to wash away the village, it is natural for the locals to protest. He said that there is a problem of operating transport or protecting the village. President of Sindhupalchok Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Buddharaj Basnet said that due to the ongoing landslides, the time of traffic operation has become more uncertain and the business has collapsed.

Chairman Basnet, who has been in the field to open the road for a week, informed that earlier, he had been doing business with the help of dozers for some time every day, by passing the containers. After Rasuwa customs was completely closed, Basnet expressed his regret that the government officials were not serious enough to organize the Tatopani road, which is the only point of land trade with China.

Tatopani Customs Officer Surya Kafle said that the road was blocked and there was a direct impact on revenue collection. He said that the process of blocking the road started from May. This month's revenue of customs has been collected only 36 percent . Kafle said, "Customs business is being affected due to occasional roadblocks."

Hundreds of pilgrims going to Mansarovar are stranded on the way. Passenger buses carrying goods and empty containers and going to pick up and deliver pilgrims have covered the road. On Wednesday, 1100 pilgrims have passed through Tatopani crossing in one day. Due to the problem in the neighborhood, the hotels in Tatopani are full of pilgrims.

Pilgrims going to Mansarobar came towards Tatopani after Rasuwa was closed. Now there is a compulsion to bring ready-made clothes and other goods in the warehouse of Kerung towards Rasuwa from hot water. Traders say that there are nearly 600 containers in Kerung that should be brought to Nepal through the Tatopani border.

The road should be opened to enter Nepal through the Tatopani crossing. Basnet, president of the Chamber of Commerce, says that it is difficult to open the road temporarily until sufficient equipment and construction materials are available.

Businessman Parajuli has informed that apples and other fruits have started smelling . He said, 'If you can't bring it soon, it will definitely be wasted.' Recalling that apples worth crores of rupees were thrown into Tibetan territory when the Kerung and Tatopani crossings were closed last year due to floods, Parajuli said that the same situation happens every year.

This problem has been recurring for four years in Tatopani . Last year, the floods of October 11 and 12 swept away the concrete bridge of the Liping river and the temporary road made by placing a hump pipe in Bhotekoshi . Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality, Nepal Himalaya Cross Border Commerce Association, Sindhupalchok Industry and Commerce Association, container businessmen and other associations and groups of businessmen have been drawing the attention of the government through Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel to organize the border.

Tatopani Customs' revenue collection target for the current year is nearly 25 billion. Revenue collection is sure to increase as the commercial pressure will increase after the complete closure of Rasuwa. But the condition of the road has not improved.
