Flights to Dammam, Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur have been canceled since Monday due to the breakdown of two narrow body aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation one after the other. According to the officials of the corporation, at least 600 passengers who were flying two-way from these flights were stranded.

After returning from Bangkok on Monday, the aircraft was brought into flight on Wednesday after two days after an electrical problem was noticed in the near body named Everest of Nigam. But because the plane was stuck in Kathmandu on Monday night, 145 passengers who were supposed to fly to Dammam were stopped here. "We are taking the passengers who have been stopped since Monday to Dammam in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday night," said an official of the corporation's commercial department.

After landing in Kathmandu from Hong Kong, there was a malfunction related to the engine of another narrow body named Lumbini of the Corporation on Wednesday. Due to the breakdown of this plane, 87 people who were supposed to go to Mumbai, India were stopped in Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon, while 92 passengers who were supposed to come to Kathmandu were stopped there. The corporation has claimed that 35 passengers who have to leave will be sent by other airlines and flights via Delhi by Wednesday night. It is said that the rest of the passengers on this route are kept in hotels on both sides at the corporation's expense.

Meanwhile, passengers who were supposed to go to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia on Tuesday, were also stranded on both sides due to the cancellation of the corporation's flight. "It has been reported that 126 passengers going from Kathmandu and 135 passengers who were supposed to return to Nepal were stopped on both sides because they did not fly to Nyrobody," said another official of the corporation.

The corporation has said that it will fly widebody aircraft tomorrow (Thursday) for all passengers, which has stopped from Tuesday and also Thursday. Corporation spokesperson Manoj Kumar Sah claimed that after the spare parts of the damaged ship arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday, both the narrowbodies would be operational.

On Monday, the Nigam's narrow body aircraft reached Hong Kong carrying 70 passengers from Kathmandu to pick up 75 passengers who were in Hong Kong without prioritizing the 100/100 passengers who were supposed to go to Dammam.

On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of the Hong Kong Nepal flight, there were the executive chairman of the corporation, the director of the commercial department, Tankanidhi Dahal and Captain Vijay Lama. Apart from them, there were also other employees who had gone on holiday, and the cancellation of the flight and not prioritizing the flight to Dammam has been criticized.

The executive chairman of the corporation stated that the Hong Kong program was scheduled a month in advance and claimed that the flight to Dammam was canceled due to the damage of the ship on that day. In terms of the number of passengers, although there were more passengers in Dammam, in terms of income, Hong Kong's load was more than that of Dammam. Due to the sudden breakdown of the ship, the flight has to be canceled somewhere. It is not possible to fly a damaged ship,' he said.

The team including the executive chairman arrived in Kathmandu yesterday evening. He claimed that when his tenure was about to end, some employees of the corporation spread rumors that Dammam had canceled the continued flight to Hong Kong under pressure to defame them.
