Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Deepak Khadka has said that the demand for electricity supply is increasing day by day.
Addressing the silver jubilee ceremony of Nepal Solar Power Producers Association in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he said that it is a good thing to have power supply in Nepal through solar power generation. He said that the government is not able to provide light to the places where the grid does not reach, but solar energy is making up for it.
Minister Khadka explained as a positive aspect the work of pumping irrigation through solar energy in places where the government could not irrigate. He said that the need for electricity is increasing day by day and with it the challenges are also increasing. Stating that the necessary homework for
management is not enough, he clarified that the government is working to connect electricity production with the income of every citizen and the country.
He said, 'Through solar power generation in Nepal, the government of Nepal has played an important role in bringing light to remote areas where the grid does not reach. Contribution has been made by pumping through solar energy in places where the government is unable to irrigate. On the one hand, the need for electricity is increasing day by day, while on the other hand, the challenges are also increasing.
Minister Khadka said that there is no option for everyone to come together to solve the environmental effects and challenges. He also mentioned that there is a challenge to make electricity consumption reliable and safe.
