Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank Vishwanath Poudel is discussing with presidents and chief executive officers of banks and financial institutions. Governor Paudel, who is discussing with the chief executive officers of the banks today (Tuesday), is scheduled to interact with the president on Wednesday.
Discussions have been held with three agendas, namely the policy arrangement made by the monetary policy, the amendment bill related to banks and financial institutions and the second financial sector reform strategy. Rashtra Bank sources said that they are going to discuss the latest situation in the financial sector, loan disbursement and recovery, new arrangements made through monetary policy.
"There is also an agenda to discuss the amendment bill of the Bank and Financial Institutions Act," the source said, "With the beginning of the new financial year, the financial policy (budget) and monetary policy have been implemented." The National Bank is trying to understand the opinions of bankers on the implementation of that policy, the problem of loan recovery seen in the financial sector for a long time, reduction in loan demand, excess liquidity, etc.'
Similarly, Rastra Bank has adopted a very flexible policy for real estate and stock market. Rashtra Bank sources have said that they are going to discuss with the presidents and CEOs of the banks about the situation of implementation of the mentioned system, the practical difficulties encountered during the implementation.
