The government has announced a new tourism policy for the overall development and promotion of the country's tourism sector. Minister Badri Prasad Pandey announced the new tourism policy during a program organized by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation on Monday.

 

Minister Pandey announced the policy and said that the policy will be important to establish Nepal as a unique tourist destination. He said that the problems seen during the implementation of the policy and the missing topics will also be included in the policy.

He informed that the process of making tactics and strategies for the implementation of the policy is going on. He mentioned that a coordination council has been formed to make federalism more effective and also said that three meetings have been held in different places. He said that the policy aims to give Nepal a distinct identity in the international market from a cultural and natural point of view.

He said, 'The policy has been brought in order to maintain good governance in the country . It is good policy making . This policy may still be missing something . We are all aware of that too. We have the right to fix the missing things in the policy in the future. But for now the happy thing for all of us is that we have got the policy.

Minister Pandey also said that the decision of the cabinet to merge the bodies under the ministry has caused some problems in the formulation of the law. He said that the minister is active in creating specialized laws for all agencies. Mentioning that there is a lot of desire to have direct flights to Buddhist countries through Bhairahawa Airport, he also said that he is making an action plan accordingly.
