The contract has been signed for the 25 km section of the BP highway which was damaged by the floods in October 2081 and the work has been started. A two-lane road is going to be constructed on the 30.5 km stretch from Bhakundebensi to Nepalthok which has been damaged by the flood. Now three packages including two towards Kavre and one towards Sindhuli have been signed.

The contract has already been signed for the 11 km section from Bhakundebensi to Charsaybensi. The contract for the said section was taken by Lama-Nav Kantipur JV. In which section, excluding VAT, an agreement has been made for 1 billion 14 million rupees. A contract for a distance of 9 km from Charsybensi to Dalabensi has been signed with Khani-Kamaljit-Awan JV for 1.22 billion rupees excluding VAT.

Both contracts were signed last June and the road department said that the work should be completed within two years from the date of signing the contract. The department called for the contract only for the other section that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will work on the 5 km section of this highway. Later JICA is ready to build 3.2 km road from Pipley to Barkhekhola, which section is currently undergoing final survey work by JICA. The section is being built with the help of the Japanese government.

Arjun Prasad Aryal, head of the Development Assistance Implementation Division under the Road Department, said that it is going to be made with the help of Japan's 2 billion 63 crore rupees (Nepali rupees) grant. "We have asked to make the section that Japan will do until July 2027, when the road that we have started construction will be blacked out, to be able to operate vehicles at the same level," he said, "After that, the section will be blacked out."

BP highway is now an 'intermediate' lane. Aryal says that now two lanes will be built. He said that a construction contract will be signed with JICA before the work starts. Japan will call for the contract. Similarly, the contract for the 2.3 km section from Piple to Dalabensi, which falls under this section, is in the process of being signed. Suman Yogesh, Head of Road Division Bhaktapur, said that if there is a contract agreement, the businessmen who have taken charge of the construction have already been put into operation.

The 5 km stretch from Barkhekhola to Nepalthok is in Sindhuli. The contract for this section has been taken by Kharidhunga-Ghisingh-Khistij JV. The contract was signed in the second week of June for Rs 55 crore excluding VAT. Shubraj Neupane, the head of the Federal Road Supervision and Monitoring Office, said that if Japan does it, an agreement for the construction will be reached by the end of 2025.

"Representatives of the company that will take over the construction of the contract section have gone to the field, and they have started work on the section that they have taken the contract for, so as not to cause problems during the flood," he said, "Workers and machines have been mobilized."

"The work will be done according to the design only after the rains," he said, "The work will be done only in such a way that the road will not be blocked during the rains." He said that after the rains subside, the permanent construction work will start only from the end of August. "We have mobilized the construction professionals," he said, "we only coordinate, we have arranged for one engineer and sub-engineer to stay in the field for the whole year."

The road will be built according to the standard of two lanes in the 30 km section. 8 billion 50  crores were demanded through road division Bhaktapur and Khurkot after the dismissal of the BP highway for permanent construction and maintenance last October. According to this, 7.5 billion rupees have been provided to Bhaktapur section and 1 billion rupees to Khurkot section.
