The construction progress of the 41.45 km Ambukhaireni-Jamune section is 85 percent. After the completion of black paper, road safety, river control, access road and landslide control are now being done. Prakashchandra Bhandari, Head of Eastern Section of Muglin-Pokhara Road Plan, said that the target is to complete the entire work of that section before Dasain.
'Lane marking work is 95 percent complete, marking in the middle of the road, street lights work remains, traffic signals at three intersections He said, "We are also preparing to put crash barriers." Out of the three big and 13 small bridges, only the construction of the Madi bridge has yet to be completed, he said. The contract agreement for the first section was signed on January 8, 2077. The work was started from May 2, 2078. The term of the contract taken by China Communications Construction Company was till 2nd Baisakh, 2081. After the work could not be completed within that time, the time was extended for the second time until October 2081. After
failed to work again, the deadline was extended for the third time to February 2081, but the work was still not done. Although the deadline is now until June 2082, the road department sources said that they are ready to extend the time by three months if the work is not completed. The contract amount of this section is 6 billion 21 crore 31 lakh rupees. After the construction of the road is completed, the company that will take the contract for five years will do its maintenance work. The total distance of Ambukhaireni-Pokhara road section under Prithvi Highway is 80.33 km. It has been expanded by dividing it into two sections, Ambukhaireni-Jamune and Jamune-Pokhara.
The contract agreement for the second section Jamune-Pokhara section was signed on 3rd June 2078. The work started from August 13, 2078. "From Jamune to Pokhara Seti Bridge, there is a distance of 38.88 km, in which about 18.44 km of 6 lanes and 19.44 km of 4 lanes are being extended," Kunwar said, "Overall, the physical progress of this section is 55 percent."
Before the rainy season, he said that the one-way road was paved so that passengers and drivers could not travel with dust and smoke. "In this section, there are 37 km of one-way black paper," Kunwar added, "Now we have to walk only 1,500 meters on the old road." He says that 11 of the 12 bridges in this section have been completed. "The Seti Bridge is under construction, it will take another four/five months to complete," he said, "now the speed of work in this section has increased, the first level of black sheeting is not done before the monsoon, black sheeting is not of good quality at such a time, we only do it by looking at the situation."
Its contract was taken by Yanhui Kaiyuan Highway and Bridge Construction. The expansion of both segments was facilitated by concessional loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The contract amount is 7 billion 40 million 46 million rupees. Seti and Madi bridges on both road sections have been awarded separately. The contract for Seti Bridge was taken by Rasuwa Construction. Its contract amount is 1 billion 72 million rupees.

The power house of the Marsyangdi hydroelectric project is located in the section with heavy traffic. Again this falls under the awkward and complicated section.
Contract management has not been completed on the 8 and a half km road of that section. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) has been approved by the Ministry of Forests and Environment to proceed with the contract process for road construction across Muglin. Chudaraj Dhakal, the project director of the Directorate of Projects (ADB), said that under the new project of ADB, which will start in 2026, the work will be started.
Landslide management on the Nagadhunga-Muglin road
The work of paving the Nagadhunga-Muglin road section, which has been divided into three sections and has been upgraded, has been stopped due to rain. According to the road department, landslide management and prevention work is going on in all the three sections. In the first section under the 12.26 km Nagadhunga-Naubise road section, the first layer of black paper has been completed.
In this section, 5.5 km of the second level blackboard has been completed. Keshav Prasad Ojha, the head of Nagadhunga-Muglin Road Plan Eastern Section, said that although the road will be paved up to the third level, it is not possible before the monsoon. The overall physical progress of Nagadhunga-Naubise section is 84 percent. The contract for the upgrading of this section was taken by Jangsu-Sagun JV for 1.3 billion rupees. Ojha also said that a handicap-friendly sky bridge is going to be built in the mine shaft of this section.
Slope stabilization (landslide control) of a special nature is being done in Jhaple river. It will be blacklisted only after its completion. "We will not do the black sheeting work before the rains, we are working to make traffic easier during the rainy season," he said, "We have made the black sheeting only when the sun is shining by adjusting the weather in small sections." The
falls in the second section, the Naubise-Malekhu section. Its distance is 43.54 km. The contract for this section was taken by JICG-Sharma-Lama JV for 5.33 billion 19 million. Its physical progress is 42 percent. In that section, 15 km road has been paved in both directions. In this, the second level of black paper work has not been done. Chief Ojha said that it is not done because it is not durable when black sheeting is done during the dry season. The office said that the black paper work will start from the end of August after the rain subsides in both these sections. It belongs to the third section, Malekhu-Muglin. The progress of this section of 38.86 km distance is 31 percent.
Sharma-JICG has taken the contract for upgrading this section for 4 billion 805 million rupees. According to the agreement signed on 15 December 2079, the work should be completed within December 2082. Kedar Prasad Nepal, head of the west section of the Nagadhunga-Muglin road scheme, said that the black-paved four-lane road in the market area. So far only 8.14 km of road has been paved in that section. "It has rained, now there will be no black paper work," he said, "now we will do landslide prevention work in the risk areas, we will keep construction materials ready for black papering," according to Nepal, it has been stopped because the black papering in Barkha is of poor quality.
"It is not sustainable to use black paper in Barkha," he said, "Now we start black paper from the end of August." The distance from Nagadhunga to Muglin is 94.66 km. 12 thousand vehicles pass through this section daily. He said that due to the rains last October, the road in Krishnabhir was submerged in a length of about 80 meters. "There is no situation where the road itself will be closed," Nepal said, "We have done the piling work in the first phase, it is in the final phase, in the next phase, we will proceed with the construction of a check dam in the place where the river has eroded."
Narayangadh-Butwal road expansion will take one year
It has been 7 years since Narayangadh-Butwal road expansion started. According to the contract signed in March 2075, its work should be completed by July 2079. Chudaraj Dhakal, the project director of the Directorate of Projects (ADB), said that this year, the Downne and Vinayi Khola bridges have caused a lot of problems. "There was a problem in the operation of vehicles when the bridge of Vinayi Khola was broken," he said.
"When the problem arose, we stopped the work and started to fill the ditch, but due to the monsoon, the problem arose due to the deep ditch," he said. "The work of the bridge will be completed by Dasain, it will take one year to complete the entire project, the deadline for that is in the process of being extended," he said, "in total, 100 km of roads have been paved, of which 80 km of two-way roads have been paved."
