The NEPSE index increased by 75.84 points on the last day of weekly trading and on the first day of the financial year 2082/83. After rising by 2.71 percent compared to the previous day, the overall NEPSE has risen to 2,870.63 points. The high growth of NEPSE was possible after the share price of 239 companies that came into the business increased. However, the share price of 9 companies decreased on that day.

 

 

On this day, investors were interested in buying shares of companies under the life insurance, non-life insurance, manufacturing and processing, hotel and tourism, hydropower, and development bank subgroups. Accordingly, the index of life insurance subgroup increased by 417.28, non-life insurance by 278.80, production and processing by 216.40, hotel and tourism by 181.25, hydropower by 111, development bank by 115.87 points. The collective investment fund sub-group's index has remained generally positive. 

On Thursday, after the stock price of Trade Tower increased by 10 percent, the transaction was controlled through a circuit breaker. Share price of Shubham Power increased by 9.99, Three Khastar Hydropower by 9.99, Eastern Hydropower by 9.90, and Barahi Hydropower (General) by 9 percent. 

Share prices fell mainly in mutual funds on Thursday. Accordingly, share prices of NIBL Stable Fund, NIC Asia Flexi Cap Fund, Reliable Samriddhi Yojana, Muktinath Mutual Fund-1, KBL Debenture (2089) decreased. Investors in these companies lost the value of their assets. 

On Thursday, shares worth 16 billion 59 crore 21 lakh rupees were traded. This is the highest amount traded in a single day in the last 11 months. Earlier on August 11, 2081, there was a transaction of 18 billion 64 crore rupees. According to NEPSE, 386 million 34 thousand 350 shares have been bought and sold out of 141 thousand 434 transactions. All 13 subgroups rose on Thursday. 

Nepal Re-Insurance Company 844.2 million, Butwal Power Company 606.8 million, Radhi Electricity Company 567.4 million, Sanima Mai Hydropower 426.1 million and Ngadi Group Power 41.17 million. 

As the NEPSE index increased, the size of the stock market (total capitalization) increased by 1 trillion 26 billion 386 million rupees in one day. On Wednesday, it was 46 trillion 56 billion 98 billion 93 million rupees, and on Thursday it remained at 47 trillion 83 billion 376 million rupees.

In the last fiscal year, most of the 21 billion shares were bought and sold.

A new record has been set in terms of share turnover in the financial year 2081/82. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, shares worth 21 trillion 24 billion 91 crores were traded in the secondary market in that financial year. According to NEPSE, a historical record was maintained in the secondary market trading of securities that year and there was a significant improvement in other indices. 

Earlier in the financial year 2077/78, the highest amount of shares worth 14 trillion 54 billion 44 crore rupees was traded. In the financial year 2080/81, securities worth 7 trillion 34 billion 68 million were traded. Compared to that year, there was an increase of 189.23 percent in the financial year 2081/82 and the turnover equal to 21 billion rupees is according to NEPSE data. 

By June 2082, the size of the stock market (total market capitalization) had reached 46 trillion 56 billion 98 billion. It is 31.05 percent more than June 2081. At the end of June 2008, the total market capitalization was 35 trillion 53 billion 67 million rupees.

By the end of the financial year 2081/82, the number of listed companies has reached 272. In that financial year, 3 companies were delisted due to mergers and acquisitions, while 4 companies were added through Initial Public Offering (IPO).

365 million shares through the first issue, 1120 thousand shares through additional issue, 433258 shares added by the government and distributed to local people, 378 million units of collective investment fund and 83 million institutional bonds, a total of 8042 million 85 thousand shares have been listed.
