An environment for investors to invest with confidence should be created: Chairman Deuba

Chairman of Nepali Congress and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that domestic and foreign investors should create an environment to invest confidently in Nepal.

Addressing the 23rd Annual General Meeting of IPPAN in Kathmandu on Tuesday, he said that anyone who comes for investment should be made an investment environment through easy and simple means. He said that the government cannot think of causing pain to the investors.

He also mentioned that the government has the responsibility of consuming and trading the produced electricity. For this, it is necessary to involve the private sector as well. He said that it was wrong to stop the IPO issue of hydropower projects and that the Securities Board will soon issue the shares. He said that the energy sector is an asset given by nature in Nepal. Former Prime Minister Deuba also asked for more emphasis on 'green energy'.

Chairman Deuba said, 'Now the government has the responsibility to consume and trade the electricity produced. For this, it is necessary to involve the private sector. Anyone who comes for investment should be made an environment to invest in easy and simple ways. There is no need to worry investors. An environment should be created for domestic and foreign investors to invest confidently in Nepal.

President Deuba said that the country's policy of liberalism and privatization is behind the achievements in economic and social development of Nepal. He said that the weaknesses during its implementation should be eliminated and the private sector should be further encouraged. Mentioning that the increase in production from the private sector is a matter of happiness, he said that there is no load shedding in the country today.
