This week, the NEPSE index, which measures the overall share turnover, increased by 108.22 points, the share prices of 219 companies increased, while the prices of 29 companies decreased. This week, investors were attracted to hydropower, finance, hotel and tourism, other and investment sub-groups including life insurance, finance, development bank, life insurance.
Life insurance subgroups grew by 8.50%, finance by 7.38%, development bank by 7.26% and non-life insurance by 7.02%. Banking 5.25%, microfinance 5.16%, investment increased by 2.98%, according to NPSTOX. The lowest trading sub-group grew by 0.83 percent.
As in the previous weeks, the share market was dominated by hydropower companies. This week, 4 in the list of 10 companies that gained in the stock market, 8 in the list of companies that lost money and 9 in the list of 10 companies with the highest turnover based on turnover.
Among the hydropower companies that gained in the stock market were Rapti Hydro and General Construction and Khanikhola Hydropower, Geogeo Energy and Vindhyavasini Hydropower. Similarly, the share price of investors of Sindhu Bikas Bank, Green Development Bank, Nepal Insurance, Nepal Finance, Win Nepal Lughvitta and Dhaulagiri Lughvitta increased this week. According to NP Stocks, the share price of Rapti Hydro and General Construction increased by 26.22, Sindhu Bikas Bank by 23.75, Green Development Bank by 23.58, Khanikhola Hydropower by 18.21 percent. 17.81% of Nepal Insurance, 14.81% of Geography Energy Development, 14.72% of Nepal Finance, 14.50% of Win Nepal Microfinance, 13.02% of Vindhyavasini Hydropower and 12.58% of Dhaulagiri Microfinance have increased the property value of investors.
This week, hydroelectric power dominated the list of companies that lost value. Share prices of Madhya Solu Hydropower, Butwal Power, Kalika Power Company, Panchkanya Mai Hydropower, Joshi Hydropower, Himalayan Power Partners, Greenlife Hydropower, Mayakhola Hydropower have fallen the most. Madhya Solu Hydropower 5.69, Butwal Power 5.03, Kalika Power Company 4.63, Panchkanya Mai Hydropower 4.09, Joshi Hydropower 3.92, Himalayan Power Partners 3.79, Crest Micro Life Insurance 3.30 Greenlife Hydropower 3.22, Guardian Micro Life Insurance 2.68 and Mayakhola Hydropower 2.28 per cent. Share prices fell. Investors in these companies have lost the value of their assets this week. In terms of
turnover, hydropower companies also dominated. Courage Energy had the highest turnover this week. During the week, the turnover of Sahash Energy alone was 1.82 billion 1 lakh rupees.
NRN Infrastructure and Development 1.56 billion 93 million, Butwal Power 1.52 billion 3 million, Radhi Electricity Company 1.31 billion 68 million, Saptakoshi Development Bank 1.33 million 39 million, Ngadi Group Power 1.10 billion 84 million, Sanima Mai Hydropower 1.873 billion rupees. 1 billion 136 million shares of Union Hydropower, 909 million rupees of Barun Hydropower and 696 million rupees of Universal Power Company were traded.
According to NEPSE, shares worth 39.93 billion 23 lakh rupees have been traded in five trading days. 7 billion 121.7 million on Sunday, 6.38 billion 72 million on Monday, 7.3 billion 33 million on Tuesday, 9.74 billion 48 million on Wednesday. 9 billion 64 crore 55 lakh rupees was traded on Thursday according to NEPSE data.
With NEPSE increasing by 108.22 points in the week, the size of the stock market (total market capitalization) has increased by 1 trillion 80 billion 30 million 56 lakh rupees. The total market capitalization which was Rs 43 trillion 69 billion 10 crore last Thursday has remained at Rs 45 trillion 5 billion 19 crore on Thursday. Total market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the total listed shares by the same day's share price. Increase in capitalization means increase in market value of listed shares. On this basis, when the capitalization increases, it is analyzed as the value of the investor's property increases.
