Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that the presented budget is in line with the spirit of democracy and republic.
Answering the questions raised by the parliamentarians in the meeting of the National Assembly, Finance Minister Poudel clarified that the budget was not built according to the system. He said that the budget was not a ceremonial one, but a factual one, and it would be implemented after it was passed by the parliament.
According to him, the government is aware that the scope of loans should not be unlimited, and special attention will be paid to the utilization of the budget for production and capital expenditure.
Finance Minister Paudel informed that the revenue target will be achieved through actions such as expanding the scope of taxes, controlling leakages, connecting to information technology and making revenue administration effective.
He informed that there is a need to get out of Nepal's gray list, attention should be paid to asset laundering and the threshold on luxury tax has been removed. He also expressed the belief that the complaints of businessmen involved in gold jewelery business are being discussed and a common conclusion will be reached from the same discussion.
Finance Minister Paudel said that the suggestions given by the parliamentarians were also considered during the budget making process.
