There has been a discussion between the auto dealers and the Department of Transportation regarding the preparations being made in the context of the 2082 Directive on the Import, Production and Installation of Vehicles.
The delegation led by the president of NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal, Karan Choudhary, held a discussion on Monday in the presence of the director general of the department, Rajeev Pokharel.
President Chaudhary opined that the points in the proposed guidelines should be discussed in detail between NADA and the department. NADA Vice President Rajan Babu Shrestha said that it is necessary to discuss the points mentioned in the guidelines and make them realistic and practical. NADA General Secretary Surendra Kumar Upreti opined that the government should punish wrongdoers and reward those who do right. Director General Pokharel said that political clarity will be brought to this matter through further discussions with the relevant agencies. He said that since there are no clear rules regarding the import of vehicles in Nepal so far, guidelines are being prepared to organize them.
