Despite the decline in the NEPSE index, hydropower companies dominate the business

While the NEPSE index fell by 4.45 percent, the sub-group of hydroelectric power increased by only 3.82 points. In terms of share price increase and turnover, hydropower companies are ahead. Three of the five companies whose share prices have increased are hydropower.

 

On Thursday, the share price of Green Development Bank increased by 9.18 and Saptakoshi Bikas Bank by 9 percent. Share price of Varun Hydropower increased by 8.93%, People's Hydropower Company by 7.14% and Super Madi Hydropower by 6.84%. In terms of turnover, the top five companies were hydropower. Butwal Power Company, Radhi Vidyut Company, Ngadi Group Power, Singti Hydro Energy and Varun Hydropower Company traded the highest amount. 

Butwal Power Company 625 million, Radhi Electricity Company 392 million, Ngadi Group Power 320 32 million, Singti Hydro Energy 31 million 61 million and Barun Hydropower Company 285 million rupees. According to NEPSE, development bank sub-group grew by 52.88 points and microfinance by 6.41 points. The value of the mutual fund subgroup remained stable. The declining subgroups are hotel and tourism, life insurance, non-life insurance and trade. 

Share prices of Reliable Samriddhi Yojana, Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals, Pure Energy, Joshi Hydropower, Crest Micro Life Insurance fell on the last trading day of the week. The NEPSE index, which was stable at 2,600 points for three trading days, dropped by 0.17 percent to 2,595.74 points on Thursday. Earlier, NEPSE reached 2500 points after three months. 

A total of 1 crore 96 lakh 50 thousand 2 hundred 10 shares were bought and sold, with a share turnover of 7 billion 78 crore 2 lakh 42 thousand rupees, which is the highest since the last three trading days. Since last Monday, more than 6.5 billion rupees had not been transacted. 6.47 billion on Monday, 5.76 billion on Tuesday and 5.92 billion on Wednesday. NEPSE reported that there was a turnover of 8 billion rupees on Thursday. 

The size of the stock market (total market capitalization) has also shrunk due to the decline in NEPSE. The size of the stock market has shrunk by 7 billion 41 crore 56 lakh rupees. As NEPSE declines, the share prices of companies also decrease, so the total market capitalization has decreased by 7 billion 41 crore 56 lakh rupees. On Wednesday, it was 4 trillion 33 billion 23 billion rupees, but on Thursday it remained at 4 trillion 32 billion 48 billion rupees.

The total market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the total listed shares by the same day's share price. A decrease in capitalization means a decrease in the market value of the listed shares. On this basis, it has been analyzed that the value of the investor's property has decreased and the size of the stock market has shrunk.
