The distance of Ambukhaireni-Pokhara road section under Prithvi Highway is 80.33 km. It has been divided into two sections and the road extension contract has been awarded. The first is Ambukhaireni-Jamune and the second is Jamune-Pokhara.

Now the construction work of this segment has reached its final stage . Overall, the physical progress of Ambukhaireni-Pokhara is 70 percent. But the contract for 8 and a half km of this section has not yet been signed.
Project Director of Project Directorate (ADB) Chudaraj Dhakal said that the black paper work has been completed in the first section. The contract for Seti and Madi bridges on this road section has been done separately. The contract of Seti Bridge has been taken by Rasuwa Construction. Its contract amount is 1 billion 72 million rupees. So far the construction progress of this section is 46 percent. Its length is 190 meters and two bridges of two lanes have been constructed. The contract for Madi bridge was taken by Anak-JTIEc JV. Its construction progress is 70 percent. This 390 meter long bridge will have four lanes. The contract for both the bridges was signed on July 26, 2079.
