The distance of Ambukhaireni-Pokhara road section under Prithvi Highway is 80.33 km. It has been divided into two sections and the road extension contract has been awarded. The first is Ambukhaireni-Jamune and the second is Jamune-Pokhara.

The contract agreement for the first section, which is 41.45 km distance, was signed on January 8, 2077. The work was started from Baisakh 2, 2078. The contract period taken by China Communications Construction Company was only valid till 2nd Baisakh, 2081 . Now the construction work of this segment has reached its final stage . Overall, the physical progress of Ambukhaireni-Pokhara is 70 percent. But the contract for 8 and a half km of this section has not yet been signed. 

Project Director of Project Directorate (ADB) Chudaraj Dhakal said that the black paper work has been completed in the first section. "The work of two levels of black paper has been completed," he said, "but the landslide management work has not been completed." Although the number of landslides was small at the time of the contract, they were added later, he said, and now they are working on it.

'In the first section, there are 55 small-to-large landslides, of which 8 are large,' Dhakal said, 'Until landslide management, traffic safety, footpaths, painting are completed, the whole work cannot be done, now only that work remains to be done.' The work started from August 13, 2078. According to the initial agreement, the period to be completed is up to August 12, 2081.

Yanhui Kaiyuan Highway and Bridge Construction has taken the contract for this section, so far 55 percent progress. He says that there are three problems of landslides in this section. The expansion of both segments is being facilitated by ADB's concessional loans. The distance of this section is 38.88 km. It is valid till November 2082 . So far, 37 km of one-way tarpaulin has been constructed in this section, in which 26 km of two-way tarpaulin has been constructed, the project said. The contract amount of this section is 7 billion 40 million 46 million rupees.

The contract for Seti and Madi bridges on this road section has been done separately. The contract of Seti Bridge has been taken by Rasuwa Construction. Its contract amount is 1 billion 72 million rupees. So far the construction progress of this section is 46 percent. Its length is 190 meters and two bridges of two lanes have been constructed. The contract for Madi bridge was taken by Anak-JTIEc JV. Its construction progress is 70 percent. This 390 meter long bridge will have four lanes. The contract for both the bridges was signed on July 26, 2079.
