There has been an improvement in the export of tea through the Kakadbhita channel. In the 11th month of the current financial year, tea exports from Mechi Customs Office Kakdvitta have increased by 40.5 percent. According to the data of the office, tea worth 3 billion 86 crore 64 lakh 78 thousand rupees was exported during this period.

In the same period of the last fiscal year 2080/81, tea worth 2.75 billion rupees was exported.

The export of cardamom, which is the main export item, has decreased. In 11 months of the current financial year, cardamom worth 7 billion 18 million 10 lakh 73 thousand rupees has been exported. In the same period of the last financial year, cardamom worth 7.46 billion 68 lakh 76 thousand was exported.

Customs has collected 14 billion 43 crore 92 lakh 37 thousand revenue in 11 months of the current financial year. The office has collected 91.56 percent of the target revenue from last July to May. During this period, the office aimed to collect 15 billion 77 crore 19 lakh 46 thousand revenue.

Compared to the same period of the last financial year, the revenue collection has increased by 14 percent in the current financial year, according to the office. In 11 months of the last fiscal year 2080/081, the office collected 77.56 percent revenue. In the same period of 2079/80, 69.94 percent of revenue was collected.

The Ministry of Finance has given an annual revenue collection target of 17 billion 34 million 46 lakh 37 thousand rupees to Mechi Customs Office Kakdvitta. The office is under pressure to collect 2 billion 954 million rupees in June alone to meet the annual target.

Mechi Customs Office could not meet the annual revenue collection target even in the last financial year. In the financial year 2080/81, the target was to collect 18 billion 25 crore 78 lakh 68 thousand rupees. However, the customs office managed to collect only 78.40 percent of the target, i.e. 23 crore 52 lakh 60 thousand rupees. Customs officials say that the same situation may repeat this year as well.

Office must collect 2 billion 954 million rupees revenue in June alone to meet the target. However, the revenue record collected in the previous months of the office does not show that so much revenue was collected in a single month. It seems that the most revenue collection here is from the import of petroleum products. 6 billion 93 crore 31 lakh 52 thousand rupees revenue collection was done from the import of petroleum products. That is, the share of petroleum products in the contribution of revenue collection is 60.81 percent.
