7 thousand 650 tons of manure to Birganj Regional Office, 5 thousand 100 to Bhairahawa Regional Office and 5 thousand 250 tons to Biratnagar Office
As the planting is approaching, Urea fertilizer of Salt Trading Corporation and Agricultural Material Company has started entering through Veerganj channel. Urea imported from global tender by these two institutes of the country, which is responsible for fertilizer supply, has gradually started entering.
The urea supplier for both institutes is Sun International. A rack of salt and urea fertilizer brought by Sun arrived at the Sirsia dry port in Birganj on Tuesday. Under this consignment of 18,000 tons, Virgunj Regional Office will receive 7,650 tons of fertilizer, said Amoz Lamichhane, head of Birgunj Madhesh Regional Office in Salt. Bhairahawa regional office will get 5 thousand 100 and Biratnagar office will get 5 thousand 250 tons of fertilizer. Birganj and Bhairahawa's goods are entering through Birganj Naka.
Lamichhane said that the fertilizer that started coming in when the planting started has greatly reduced the demand for fertilizer from the indigenous farmers. "We have just mobilized the urea fertilizer from the previous consignment," he said, "now the fertilizer from this consignment will meet the demand for fertilizer to a large extent."
Information Officer and Assistant Chief Purushottam Singh of the company's Madhesh Regional Office Birganj informed that urea fertilizer of the agricultural material company will also start coming in from Thursday. He said that a railway rack carrying urea fertilizer from Kolkata port had already left for Birganj on Monday. By Thursday, the railway rack will arrive at the Indian border town of Raxaul railway station, Singh said. According to Singh, 21,500 tons of urea fertilizer will be imported from this consignment. Birganj, Bhairahawa and Biratnagar regional offices will get share from this mall.
The company is importing 30,000 tons of urea from the previous consignment of 30,000 tons. Singh said that 15,000 tons of urea has already been imported in 6 railway racks through Birgunj and the rest is in the process of being imported. The cargo of this consignment is also coming in from Biratnagar.
Singh said that with the old and new fertilizers coming in, urea fertilizers will be easily available in one and a half dozen districts of Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces under the jurisdiction of the office. "It will be easy for us to supply fertilizer to the farmers when urea fertilizer is introduced before planting," he said.
