Total deposits in banks and financial institutions have exceeded 70 billion rupees. This is the most so far. Of the total deposits in banks and financial institutions, only 62 trillion 62 billion rupees are in commercial banks. According to Rastra Bank, the remaining 7.5 trillion deposits are in development banks and finance companies.
The mentioned 70 trillion deposits are only from commercial banks, development banks and finance companies. Apart from this, microfinance financial institutions and cooperative societies also collect deposits as member savings. However, the deposits in those institutions are not included in the data collected by the National Bank. Therefore, experts say that if the deposits of all sectors of the economy are added, the real deposits will be more.
It is not only now that a lot of money has been deposited in banks and financial institutions. Although there is a lot of money in the market for the last one and a half years, the National Bank has been withdrawing money at least twice a week for management purposes. At the same time, the National Bank is withdrawing 90 billion rupees on Wednesday.
