Although the NEPSE index closed with normal points on Sunday and Monday, this improvement did not last until Tuesday. According to which, the total NEPSE decreased by 3.90 points to 2 thousand 654.75 points on Tuesday. In the previous two trading days, the NEPSE rose by a modest margin, but there was a significant improvement in the trading volume. On Tuesday, along with NEPSE, the transaction amount also decreased.
On that day, the overall NEPSE decreased by about four points, while the indices of hotel and tourism sector and insurance sub-group showed a high decline. Out of the 13 sub-groups traded on that day, the indices of 10 decreased, while hydropower, microfinance and trade increased. Among the declining sub-groups, the index of hotel, insurance and banking sub-groups decreased by a lot, which is a shock to the growth of NEPSE. On that day, the hotel and tourism sector decreased by 114.01 points, while microfinance increased by 51.77 points.
The share price of 99 companies increased while the price of 148 companies decreased. A total of 1 crore 64 lakh 775 shares were bought from a total of 70 thousand 77 times.
Compared to Monday, the share trading amount has also decreased on Tuesday. On Monday, 13 billion 18 billion rupees were traded, but on Tuesday, the trading amount was limited to 7 billion 65 billion 32 million rupees.
On that day, the hydropower sub-group index rose by 9.85 points. This is why the same sector dominates the list of high earning and high turnover companies. According to which, Pure Energy's 9.99%, Butwal Power Company's 7.23%, Upper Hewakhola's 5.28%, Vindabasini Hydropower's 5.16% and Community Microfinance's 7.13% increase in share price earned the most. However, the investors of these companies lost the most as the share price of Guardian Micro Life Insurance decreased by 4.62%, Narayani Bikas Bank 3.94%, Sindhu Bikas Bank 3.77%, Crest Micro Life Insurance 3.21% and Oriental Hotels by 2.87%.
Sanima Mai Hydropower, Butwal Power Company, Ngadi Group Power, Radhi Electricity Company and Solti Hotel were the top five companies on the basis of turnover on that day. According to NEPSE, the turnover of Sanima Mai Hydropower is Rs 749.6 million, Butwal Power Company is Rs 603.8 million, Ngadi Group Power is Rs. The size of the stock market (total market capitalization) has decreased by Rs.
The total market capitalization of 44 trillion 29 billion 46 crore rupees on Monday has remained at 44 trillion 22 billion 96 crore rupees on Tuesday. Total market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the total listed shares by the same day's share price. A decrease in capitalization means a decrease in the market value of the listed shares. On this basis, the decrease in capitalization is analyzed as a decrease in the value of the investor's property. Investors may be waiting for monetary policy if NEPSE does not grow as expected in recent days, experts say.
