The route leading to the dam site of Upper Tamakosi Hydropower Station is very crowded. Even in such difficult weather, the work of making a path for pedestrians is being done, that too without any big tools.
Locals of Riku village used to come for shopping from Riku Bhir connecting Vigu-1 and Gaurishankar-9. Many people are surprised that there is a road from Wari to Riku Bhir. But now the road to Bhir can be seen from Wari. An easy path has been paved in a very difficult situation. But in the process of splashing, 64-year-old Netra Bahadur Khadka of Riku has lost 2 fingers of his right hand. Even though he lost a finger while working, the face of Netra Bahadur who was found in Riku was bright.
After the road to reach the village became easy, the number of people coming to see the village is also increasing. Riku is known as the village surrounded by nine forests. A decade ago, Tuin needed help to reach Riku. He has sent many locals from Tuin to Tamakosi.
In the rainy season of 2068, after the tuin collapsed and the mother and the child were swept away in Tamakosi, the tuin crossing the village was displaced. At that time, the Upper Tamakosi Hydropower Project built a suspension bridge in Tamakosi to reach the village. But there was no easy way to reach Riku.
Bhir's road was forced to cross Latka. An anonymous Riku came into the limelight out of nowhere. But now the identity of the village has changed. The reason is that there is a 2-meter wide walkway from Lam Bagar to Bhir where the monkey falls. After another project of the Upper Tamakosi Hydroelectric Power Station, the 22 MW Rollwalling Diversion will open the road to Riku village, Netra Bahadur Bhir was deployed to break cement sand by using a tun. But in the first week of last February, two of his fingers were cut off by Tuin's stick.
But Netra Bahadur is happy that the road to Bheer has become worse than losing a finger. ``There is an easy road in Riku Bhir, it feels like the end of the day when it falls,'' he said. He said, "Let's not talk about the treatment. There was nothing but herbs and weeds." Now Riku has changed. After an hour's walk, you can reach the market near the road.
After losing a finger while crossing the road to Bhir, a company called Rikumai High Himal has given him a job in Tuin Heralu, which was built to bring goods for the construction of the audit tunnel. After the road to Bhir became easy, a new footpath was opened through Riku for tourists to reach Chho-Rolpa Himalaya and Rolwaling Valley. Homestays have started to open in Riku, which is called a hidden village.
After the trail was built, this village has become a resort for tourists who come to the area.
