In the first six months of the financial year 2081/82, the capacity utilization of industries in Gandaki province has decreased by about half a percentage point. The economic activity study of Rashtra Bank has shown that in the first six months of the last financial year, the capacity utilization of industries operating in Gandaki province was 41.26 percent, while it decreased to 40.85 percent during the same period of this year.
In the first six months of the current financial year, the production of ointment medicine, noodles, beer, dry syrup medicine, cigarettes, mustard oil and processed milk has increased compared to the same period last year. However, the report pointed out that the production of products such as capsule medicine, brick, tablet medicine, chocolate, cement, liquid medicine and biscuits has decreased compared to the same period of the previous year. By the end of December 2081, banks and financial institutions have transferred 8.18 percent of the total loans in Gandaki province, i.e. 28 billion 62 million to the industrial sector.
In the financial year 2081/82, the share of the industrial sector in the gross domestic product of Gandaki province is estimated to be 16.5 percent. Last year, this share was 16.8 percent. There is a significant presence of small and medium industries in the industrial sector of this province. By the financial year 2080/81, the total number of industries registered in Gandaki Province has reached 73 thousand 766, while the number of commercial firms has reached 74 thousand 319.
