The government-owned telecommunication service provider Nepal Telecom's network has been experiencing frequent problems since Monday. According to Ravindra Manandhar, spokesperson of the company, the problem was noticed twice on Monday and twice on Tuesday. He informed that there is a problem of phone not ringing and other services being affected.
Spokesman Manandhar said the problem was due to a technical fault in the interface unit of Online Charging Billing (OCS). "Since it is a technical matter, we are diagnosing the cause of the problem, but now the system is running," he said.
Telecom's Managing Director Sangeeta Pahadi Aryal, along with high-ranking officials, some have watched with interest that the network has been disrupted after the Authority Abuse Investigation Commission filed a case. Spokesperson Manandhar denied it. 'It is just a coincidence, there is no such connection,' he said.
Nepal Telecom has stated that it is working fast to solve the problem and will solve the problem soon.
