On the first day of weekly trading, the benchmark NEPSE index fell by 11.06 points. Compared to the previous trading day, it has decreased by 0.41 percent to 2,629.89 points. Since last Tuesday, NEPSE continues to decrease. Last Tuesday was 35.73, Wednesday 11.97 and Thursday 5.99 points decreased. NEPSE also followed the same trend on Monday.
Out of the total of 86 companies that came into trading on that day, their share prices increased while 162 companies' prices decreased. According to NEPSE, 9 billion 1374 million rupees were traded from 86 thousand 636 times of buying and selling. On Sunday, the transaction amount has increased. 7.97 billion rupees were traded last Thursday, and 9.5 billion rupees were traded on Sunday. A total of 1 crore 99 lakh 92 thousand 181 shares were bought and sold.
With the decline of NEPSE, the size of the stock market (total market capitalization) has shrunk by 1 trillion 7 billion 319 million rupees in the last four trading days. The total market capitalization, which was 44 trillion 87 billion 89 billion rupees last Monday, has remained at 43 trillion 80 billion 57 billion rupees on Sunday. Total market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the total listed shares by the same day's share price. A decrease in capitalization means a decrease in the market value of the listed shares. On this basis, the decrease in capitalization is analyzed as a decrease in the value of the investor's property.
Sub-groups declined except for hydropower, hotels and tourism. Hydropower increased by 42.42 points, hotels and tourism by 8.41 points. Among the declining sub-groups, non-life insurance was at 116.33, life insurance at 100.47, manufacturing and processing at 53.13, microfinance at 33.34 and finance at 21.53 points. River Falls Power Limited and Pure Energy gained 9.99 percent each. Chilime Hydropower dropped by 8.01%, Chyangdi Hydropower by 8.01% and Himalayan Power Partners by 7.95%.
On that day, the price of Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals fell by 10 percent and the business had to be controlled through a circuit breaker. The value of Nepal Micro Insurance Company decreased by 9.83%, Samaj Microfinance 8.35%, Crest Micro Life Insurance 6.80% and Upakar Microfinance 6.62%. Radhi Electricity Company, Universal Power Company, Ngadi Group Power, Butwal Power Company and Sanima Mai Hydropower were ahead in terms of turnover. According to NEPSE, the turnover of Radhi Electricity Company is Rs 7295 million, Universal Power Company is Rs 627 million, Ngadi Group Power is Rs 617 million, Butwal Power Company is Rs 445 million and Sanima Mai Hydropower is Rs 44 million.
