Industrialists from Rupandehi have requested the Indian real estate company Delhi Land Finance (DLF) to invest in Lumbini and surrounding areas. Stating that the economy is recovering after a long recession, they requested for investment in the real estate sector.

A discussion was held here on Monday between officials of Siddhartha Udyog Commerce Association, Bhairahawa and DLF Company. Local industrialists stressed that it is suitable for investment in and around Lumbini for one of the largest real estate companies in India.

"After a long economic recession, the economy is in a state of recovery," said Netra Prasad Acharya, president of the association, "at this time, it is positive that DLF is also interested in finding investment opportunities." Indian companies with large capital are interested in investment. He said that showing could be an opportunity for Nepal and India.   In the

discussion, DLF's Deputy General Manager (DGM) Priyanka Ojha said that she saw great potential for investment in and around the border town of Bhairahawa. Stating that his company is currently increasing investment in the cities of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, he said that DLF is ready for long-term cooperation in the field of investment by finding opportunities in Nepal as well. According to him, DLF Company has been investing in the real estate sector in India for 78 years.

"DLF doesn't just build houses," she said, "we prepare the necessary ecosystem for a family in one premises." She said that she did. 

Bhupendra Acharya, representative of DLF Company, informed that they are currently discussing the possibility of investment in 6 cities of Nepal. According to him, along with Bhairahawa, Pokhara and Chitwan are also in the first phase.

"DLF company has come to Nepal for the first time," he said, "this is an attempt to open the doors of opportunities for Nepalese to invest in India and Indians to invest in Nepal." He said that while efforts are being made to boost the real estate business in Sela, it is positive that Indian companies are showing interest for investment.
