Last week, the NEPSE index, which measures stock trading, fell by 52.1 points. NEPSE, which was at 2,693.06 points last week, fell to 2,640.96 points last week. As Sunday was a public holiday, there were only four trading days last week. It increased by 1.60 points only on Monday last week. However, it decreased by 35.73 on Tuesday, 11.97 on Wednesday and 5.99 on Thursday.

Rashtra Bank has reduced the risk burden of share loans through the semi-annual review of monetary policy. The new arrangement was expected to have a positive impact on the stock market as the credit expansion capacity of banks and financial institutions would increase in this sector. However, the stock market is falling every day. On the other hand, the data of the National Bank has shown that the loans from banks and financial institutions have increased in share securities. Generally, when this loan increases, the stock market should also increase. However, the stock market has not been able to increase. Share brokers say that there is a suspicion that the flow of shares securities may have been invested in the loan machinery sector.

In that week, 29 billion 41 million rupees worth of shares were traded from 295 thousand 324 times of share buying and selling. Last week, 684 million 61 thousand 612 shares were bought and sold. As in the previous week, last week too, in the share trading, the attraction of investors in the shares of the hydropower company has been seen a lot. This is confirmed by the fact that the share of the hydropower sub-group in the total share turnover of the week is 50 percent. A total of 29 billion 4 million rupees was traded, and shares worth 14.52 billion 36 million rupees were traded in the hydropower company. This is 50.01 percent of the total turnover.

The share of insurance and banks and financial institutions in the weekly total turnover comes to 27 and a half percent. But in Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the shares of companies in these sectors are listed in separate subgroups of banking, development banks, finance companies, microfinance, life insurance and non-life insurance. Adding the turnover of all these subgroups to the total turnover of last week comes to 27.58 percent. Experts say that this is a sign that the dominance of the financial and insurance sectors in the stock market is decreasing and the hydropower sector is increasing in the last year.
