The NEPSE index, which measures stock trading, rose by a small margin on Monday. As Sunday was a public holiday, the stock market was open only from Monday. On the last trading day of last week (last Wednesday), the NEPSE increased by about 17 and a half points, and investors expected it to increase on Monday as well. However, NEPSE did not grow relatively. According to which NEPSE increased by 1.60 points and closed at 2,694.66 points.
On this day, the share price of 115 companies increased while the price of 133 companies decreased. On that day, a total of 83 thousand 16 shares were traded worth 9 billion 22 crore 63 lakh rupees. NEPSE said that 22 million 31 thousand 861 shares were bought and sold on Monday.
Out of the total 13 sub-groups traded on that day, the index of hotel and tourism, finance, development bank, investment, life insurance, collective investment fund and others increased. The remaining subgroups declined. On that day, hotels and tourism rose by 162.40, finance by 4.32, development bank by 16.64, investment by 2.53, life insurance by 31.24, others by 8.63 points and collective investment fund by 0.01 percent. Production and processing 28.23, non-life insurance 20.87, trade 15.32, hydropower 12.23, microfinance 6.19 and banking 8.50 points, according to NEPSE. Om Megashree Pharmaceuticals and Pure Energy on Monday had to install a circuit breaker to control the trading when the prices increased by 10 percent.
Similarly, the share price of Saptakoshi Development Bank increased by 8.31%, Nyadi Hydropower by 7.27% and Corporate Development Bank by 6.35%. However, the share price of Geo Energy Development Company 6.45, Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) 3.20, Win Nepal Laguvitta 3.04, Upper Hewakhola Water Power 2.98 and RBB Collective Investment Fund-2 decreased by 2.87 percent.
On the basis of turnover, Ngadi Group Power, Radhi Vidyut Company, Universal Power Company, Hydro Electricity Investment and Development Company (HIDCL) and Butwal Power Company were ahead.
874.7 million shares of Ngadi Group Power, 652 million rupees of Radhi Vidyut Company, 549 million rupees of Universal Power Company, 37 million 29 million rupees of Hydro Electricity Investment and Development Company (HIDCL) and 349 million rupees of Butwal Power Company have been reported by NEPSE.
